11-7-04: Project Neotoxin development page
started. Page is being temporarily hosted on my personal web space. We currently
have screenshots and the games soundtrack available for your critique. Let us
know what you think and be sure to vote! We are doing this project for fun, not
money so no time table for completion has been set.
11-8-04: *Update* Added the Tools section and
added several more screenshots from the game. We need your opinions! Please
vote.
11-8-04: UGG!! Voting engine was broke for the
first 340 visitors if you voted already, please vote again, it didn't take it.
Bad HTML pasting on my part. Again please reregister your vote. Thanks!
11-9-04: Ok, old voting poll provider decided
to stop working, switched to a new poll system, again if you already voted
please re-register your vote, Thank you!
11-9-04: The email accounts on the contact
page are now activated.
11-9-04: While Neotoxin will ultimately be
FREEWARE, We have added a Paypal donation area to our Sidebar, anyone wishing to
make a donation to the project in the amount of $2USD or more will be enrolled
in our beta testing program.
Donations made will go to help ensure that
EFX's soon to be born child in April has a healthy first year of life, and
Snowbro's impending educational costs are lightened.
The first beta will be a one stage level
complete with the first boss and a thirst for more. If you wish to donate, but
do not desire to beta test this pre public demo then please state so when you
make the donation.
The final product of Neotoxin will be a
FREEWARE game.
11-9-04: 1300 Unique visitors so far, Thank
you for your interest and support. We will try and have new content as
frequently as possible to quench your thirst for the project as it gears up for
the final leg of its development.
11-9-04:
Here is a video from the actual game
itself, this is a disorganized debug version of a pre-alpha build, there is no
goal or point to this level, but it shows off some of the concept enemies and
player animations. It looks more complete than it is.
It starts at the title screen and player creation menu, it will
show you the intro cut scene, this cut scenes content (we are aware of the
grammar errors) will definitely change before the game is released, also you do
not start in the basement of a building in the ruins as the cut scene says. You
start in a area of the Secret Base. So bearing this in mind when you critique
this video, we hope you enjoy a glimpse of a project that's definitely not a
hoax.
The video is in AVI 3ivx format, and
is RAR'd to 8.5MegaBytes. Download the Xvid Codec here if you dont have it
already,

11-9-04: If you were in the middle
of downloading one of the movies links, and it died, it's because we replaced it
with a smaller version of the same movie with sound this time!
11-9-04:
My wife came home today with the latest pictures of our 15 week old :D

11-10-04:
Started working on the story again, re-wrote the intro and beginning to
structure the dialog template. We will create a standard for all the variables
and then create the dialog for the game in a manner that can be easily
interpreted by the compiler. Also started working on the NPC character
biographies.

since the site started. Don't forget we have Videos ,Soundtrack, and screenshots
for you to check out. See them all by using the menus on the left sidebar.
11-11-04: Received another donation. Thank you to SeanW. We
are working hard to prepare the First level demo of the game, and will get it
out to our testers as soon as possible. I am on 2 week leave from work which
ends next Friday. I had to have surgery last week to remove a blood clot from my
backside, and I'm only 27. Hopefully I will be fixed and around to be a
good daddy now though. Anyway since I am off I am working exclusively on the
story and quests for the first area.
11-11-04: We finally added the forum, please check it out at

Click the link above to access our
new forum! ^_^
11-13-04: Had some issues for most of the day with our host
DNS server. All should be well now, I continue to work on the story. I have
about 30-35% of the demo's version story completed so far. I may keep reworking
that portion to continue to make it as non-linear as possible.
Again sorry for the troubles with not being able to connect
today, hopefully they will trouble us no further.
11-14-04: Snowbro has added a development Blog page for
Neotoxin. Check it out to get the inside personal scoop from one of the scenes
greatest developers.

11-14-04: Progress continues and we are experimenting with changes in the
graphics as well as continuing story progression.
11-16-04: We are working on graphics for the cut scenes and the area that will
be the public demo version when it's released. We will probably reserve any new
content and reworking of the game, graphics, story, etc until the public version
is released to give a sense of something new once played. Rest assured the game
will only get better from what you have seen. Whatever does not get used in our
project, graphics, etc, we may consider releasing with the SDK. There is no SDK
yet, a lot of the tools still have to be written. Everything is hand coded at
the moment. So don't email us asking if you can have the SDK now instead of
after the project is complete. :)
11-23-04: Sad news for me (EFX). Wife was told she won't have a job after
december, which means no insurance for her and our unborn child. With her out of
work and being pregnant chances are she won't be able to get a job before April
when the baby is due. She might as well take unemployment and investigate ways
to get state insurance or COBRA I guess even though we can't afford COBRA or
adding her to my insurance. But anyway, that's more BLOG material than news.
Sorry about the rant. Read below for real news!
11-23-04: We are still working on the graphics and Snowbro is finally done with
school after this week. He will then start on coding more of the game and tools
used in it's creation. I will be doing as much as I can with the game between
working overtime to make up for my wife losing her job. Stick with us and we'll
try and get our childhood dream out to you while we deal with the realities of
adulthood.
